The Lions of MD"A" and support for Lions Quest

September 2015

My Fellow Lions:

Thank you for the overwhelming support over the past three years by donating over $325,000 through our promotional contests. As we reviewed our plans for 2015-16, we heard from Lions right across the country that it was time for change, so you will not be receiving tickets from us this year.

We are simply asking you to make a donation to support our important work. Every donation from $25 to $5,000 is appreciated and makes a difference. The power of Lions joining together to invest in our young people is what counts and we are confident we will reach our $200,000 goal this year. Consider honouring someone in your club or community with a Lions Quest Fellowship for $500 or for a $250 donation you will be recognized as a Champion Club and receive a banner patch.

Last year we held 12 community workshops, 7 train the trainer sessions, and 4 school-based workshops - that's almost 1,000 more adults with the tools and resources to have a positive impact on about 100,000 children and youth. And that's just last year - since 1988, we have touched the lives of over 3,000,000 children and youth in every province and territory. We need to involve more communities this year and a special project will be getting the newly revised Lions Quest school based material ready for Canadian schools. The work has started, but there is a lot to do. For more information, or to get involved with Lions Quest in your area, contact your District Lions Quest Chair.

It's often said that "it takes a village to raise a child" - our role at Lions Quest Canada is to help raise the "village". Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration of our request to support this awarding winning initiative, one of Lions Clubs Internationals signature youth programs.

Yours in Lionism,
PID Bruce Murray
Chair of the Board
