Diabetes

Introduction

As the MDA Diabetes Chair, my mission is to support our district by sharing resources and information to foster greater engagement in supporting individuals in our community living with diabetes. I’ll be posting updates, programs, service photos, and information from our clubs here to showcase the impactful work we’re all doing together.

Let’s continue to make a difference, one step at a time.

D-Camps

D-Camps in Ontario provide a transformative camp experience tailored for children living with type 1 diabetes. Each year, over 500 children gain essential skills for managing their diabetes while enjoying all the fun of summer camp.

There are two dedicated camps in Ontario: Camp Huronda, located on the beautiful shores of Lake Waseosa near Huntsville, and Camp Discovery, situated in London, Ontario.

Both camps foster a supportive environment where children can connect, gain confidence, and experience the outdoors under the guidance of trained medical staff and camp leaders who understand their unique needs.
