Thirtieth Multiple District "A" Convention
At the close of the 1949-1950 term the six Districts consisted of the following:

Council Chair Lion Robert D. Little reported to the delegates on the problems of travel and time necessary on the part of the Governors to serve their Clubs. He recommended that this matter be given consideration and discussion.
It was then moved, seconded and carried that District A3 be divided into two sub-Districts with the new sub-district to be identified at A7.
International President Walter C. Fisher and his wife Alice were the guests of honour at this Multiple District "A" Convention. President Fisherís term of office ended at the International Convention in

At the business session it was announced that Deputy District Governors would be in charge of Regions rather than Zones.
Governor Cohen had proposed that his District be divided because of the large number of Clubs. This gave birth to District A8.

Thirty Fourth Multiple District "A" Convention
The Multiple District "A" Constitution and By-laws completely rewritten by the committee to make them more understandable. The words "Governing Council" changed to "Governorsí Council"
For the first time, Lions elected as Zone Chairmen.

Thirty Fifth Multiple District "A" Convention
At the close of the 1954-1955 term there were 285 clubs with 13,293 members.
At the International Convention the previous year in
Executive Secretary Lion Bruce Malcolm reported to the delegates on the progress of the Association. 11,579 clubs in 68 democratic countries with a membership of over half a million members.
Many resolutions were presented at the Multiple District "A" Convention. Among them was "that no part of the funds raised for welfare purposes could be used for administrative expenses of a Club."

Thirty Sixth Multiple District "A" Convention

Past Council Chair Lion W. Dalton Higgs appointed to replace Lion Bruce Malcolm by International:
Council and Board of Governors appoint Lion Dalton Higgs as Executive Secretary;
International is opening a Lionsí supply store in
Council Chair Lion Carl Caskey announced that it had been decided to amend the Constitution. In future the Chairman of the Governorsí Council and the Board of Governors would be a member of the outgoing Council elected to the position by the other members of said outgoing Council. This change was to insure that the members of the new Council would be better guided and also that more continuity be guaranteed.

The redistricting committee recommended the creased of an additional sub-district due to the increase in the number of clubs. The new sub-district was identified as A9.
